The Tan Off

I've been trying a lot of new tanning products lately, especially now the sun has decided to make an appearance in the UK (albeit a brief one.) I love fake tanning.  I'm not a good natural tanner anyway, not because I don't tan well, its just that I can't sit still long enough, so fake tan is an essential for me in the summer.

Three tans I've been alternating between recently are the Cocoa Brown One Hour Tan (£7.99), Bondi Sands Liquid Gold (£14.99) and St.Tropez Express Tan (£33.00.) Two of which I love and one not so much.

Let me start by telling you what I look for in a good tan - its got to be easy to apply (no streaking / easy to blend), doesn't smell too strong, non-sticky and leave a nice dark colour. Ideally it wouldn't transfer onto fabrics, but I know this is probably asking too much. Every tan I've used whether it says its non-transferable or not has left a mark.

Onto the tans..... my favourite of the bunch is the St.Tropez Express Tan, this is a once a week tan and leaves a nice dark golden colour. Its easy to apply and blends effortlessly, it does leave a slight mark if you go to bed in it, but like I said I've yet to find one that doesn't and the beautiful colour it leaves is so worth it.

The Cocoa Brown One Hour Tan is my least favourite of the bunch.  It smells nice and is non-sticky but unfortunately so hard to blend!! I feel like I'm missing something with this and because of that I don't enjoy using it.

The Bondi Sands Liquid Gold is the most recent tan I've tried and so far one of the best not to leave marks. This is a dry oil which tints skin upon application and develops into a darker colour over time. Bondi Sands says there is no need to wash this off, which is handy and it dries completely so no stickiness! If Bondi Sands could last as long and develop as dark as the St.Tropez then this would be a clear winner for me.  I love the fact it comes in a spray and you can get dressed without having to worry about it.

The overall winner of the three is most definitely St.Tropez, I am addicted to the dark colour and longevity and couldn't imagine exposing my pasty pins to the world without it!

What's your favorite tan to use?
