I feel like I've been in a bit of a makeup rut lately, real talk. Nothing has inspired me or caught my eye and the blog posts have near enough dried up. I'm pretty much using the same products over and over again so have had nothing new to talk about.
I've tried to be good as its nearing Christmas and not buy too much stuff for myself, after all tis the season for giving, so when I spied the Tartelette Palette on QVC I thought I'd allow myself this little treat.
I'm really glad I did as I literally haven't put this down since buying it at the beginning of December, it's one of those 'looks boring but does it all palettes' that can be used for all a variety of things.
The palette itself comes with 12 matte shadows housed in a beautifully case with a giant mirror in the lid which is handy and they range from butter cream beige to pinks to deep plums and browns, with a a nice mix of warm and cool tones - there's even a grey thrown in for good measure!
The Tarte eye shadows are absolutely gorgeous, I've never used them before but they are some of the most blendable shades I've used and considering they're matte this is quite an achievement. I like to use mine with my trusty UD Primer Potion to ensure they last.
My favourite thing about these is that you can use them on their own to create a classy matte smoky eye or (my favourite) as transition colours for other shades. I often find myself wearing a winged liner with a bit of Wandered or Force of Nature in the crease.
Free Spirit and Super Nova are great as base colours as they help other shadows to blend on top and the last column with the darker shades is great for deepening a smoky eye.
Have you tried anything from Tartte?
My favourite shades have to be the middle row - Care Giver, Natural Beauty, Best Friend and Bombshell as they are part of the reason I got this palette in the first place. Hrush Achemyan, Kylie Jenner's makeup artist created a matte pink eye for Kylie which was absolutely stunning and was quoted as using this palette so I really wanted to try it out.
All in all a brilliant palette which I'm really happy I decided to try out, now to pick out my next Tarte purchase.
