Despite 14 years of beard wearing (short and trim until now), I only recently became aware of beard-related products once I started getting serious about growing a proper beard. I knew nothing of beard serums, oils or scrubs, but now I’ve discovered a whole world of beard care.
My first experiences with any of these
products came about thanks to a fellow hirsute friend and beard fan who
recommended Beardsley’s conditioners and shampoos. The two products I’ll focus
this review on are Beardsley’s Ultra Beard Conditioner and Ultra Beard Shampoo.
You can find the full range of Beardsley products all over the internet, but do
remember to shop around, the prices seem to vary from around £8-15.
Mmmm,
delicious
First of all,
these two products smell amazing. The Shampoo’s ‘flavour’ is wild berry, and it
really does smell of a fruity forest – so much so that you’ll smell it in your
moustache for the rest of the day. For bearded people who like to have a nice smell
about them all day, this shampoo ticks all the right boxes. The conditioner
also smells nice, but doesn’t have a ‘flavour’. Think Fructis Thickening
Conditioner’s scent and you’re on the right path.
Both products
also go a long way, you only need a little to build up a very thick lather with
the shampoo, and the conditioner seems capable of covering even the biggest of
beards with a pea-sized amount. So, don’t go mad and the bottles will last you
a good while.
The
verdict
Most
importantly, however, is do they work? In a word, yes. The shampoo leaves your
beard feeling very clean, and the conditioner softens thick beard hairs
extremely well. In combination, these two products leave your beard feeling
clean and soft, and easy to comb and style with a little wax (perhaps I’ll
cover wax in another review for Amy at a later date?!?).
I have dreamed a dream, and that dream is of
a flowing beard upon my face. Thanks to Beardsley’s products, it’s a soft and
gorgeous-smelling beard.

Thanks to
Amy for inviting me to write a post on her fantastic blog, my wife is a big fan
of her blog. I’ve never done a product
review before and I hope you enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed writing
it.
