Too Faced Better Than Sex

Phew, with a name that like that it’s got to be good right?  I managed to get my hands on this last week at Sephora as previously it has been sold out everywhere in the UK so was looking forward to finally trying this out.

Better Than Sex Mascara claims to coat and curl each lash to voluptuous perfection. They say one coat of the carbon black, collagen-fueled mascara formula and lashes are full, defined and stretched to unbelievable lengths. Two coats and lashes are even more luscious, curled and dramatic. Three coats and achieve the most intense black, oversized, multidimensional lashes possible!

Quite a claim to make. From the sound of it it’s everything I look for in a mascara but I can’t help but feel a little bummed at the results. I’ll admit, any mascara I try from now on will always be compared to my ultimatefavorite the Clinique High Impact Extreme Volume, but from the claims that the Better Than Sex mascara makes I was expecting amazing results, but in my view it’s just ok. And when paying that much for a mascara you’d expect better results.

The formula of this mascara is great, highly pigmented, long wearing and a big plus for me is that it doesn’t smudge.  I hate nothing more than smudged mascara under my eyes by midday which if I’m honest the Clinique High Impact is a little guilty of.

The thing that’s lacking for me with this mascara is volume.  It’s great at lengthening and separating lashes but I really have to take my time and apply a lot of coats to get any sort of volume to them. I like my mascara to do both as I’m a massive fan of the false lash effect which my Clinique High Impact provides effortlessly.

So in conclusion, do I hate this mascara? No, but would I buy it again over Clinique? Probably not. Overall it’s a good mascara and a nice change from my regular one but I’m not sure for the price it does everything I want it to do.

Yours truly

Xx
