Spring 2015

With Spring just around the corner, what better way to shake-off those Winter blues than with a makeup bag makeover. Dust off your tinted moisturisers and dig out those cream bronzers as we have a look at what’s to come for makeup for Spring 2015.

Brows Take a Backseat
Interestingly this year brows are supposedly taking a step-back from the limelight.  Gone are the über sculpted, Cara-esque brows we saw in 2014 and in their place softer natural looking ones. Only minimal products needed to achieve this look, forget your powders, waxes and pencils, just stick to one or two products and keep it looking as natural as possible. Dare I say this is the end of the scouse brow - was it ever a thing?!

Contouring Overload
Ah contouring, you either love it or hate it right? People seem to either love it and have it down to a T, can’t be bothered and avoid at all cost or sit somewhere in the middle of wanting to try it but maybe don’t know how. I flit between love it and can’t be bothered, mostly the latter, as at half six in the morning sculpting out my cheekbones is last thing on my mind! Apparently we won’t have to worry too much as 2015 is the year of softer contouring.  Out with the various concealers, highlighters, and powders and in with softer lines and lighter cream formulas to help achieve a naturally contoured look.

Perfectly Plum
Smudgy plum eyes were popular trend on the catwalks for Spring 2015, simple and easy to achieve, perfect for messy hair can’t be bothered days. One, maybe two products needed to achieve this look - the plummier and messier the better!!

Dewy Skin
A favorite look of mine that never really seems to go off-trend as it’s just too pretty! At risk of crossing into sweaty skinterritory, especially if you are oily, keep it light and fresh with the base, maybe a CC cream or tinted moisturiser and use a light dusting of powder if needed.

Which Spring trends will you be rocking this year?

Yours truly
