I’ve spoken about the Clinique High Impact Volume Mascara on numerous occasions on my blog as I seriously think it is THE BEST mascara I have ever tried. I know, quite a statement but never have I stayed so loyal to one makeup product in the entire time of me wearing makeup and trust me if you know me then that’s quite an achievement!
This has been a continued repurchase for over a year now and whilst it pains me to part with nearly twenty quid for a mascara each time, I’ve still not been able to find anything quite like it. I even dared to try the Too Faced Better Than Sex the last time I went shopping – it was out of stock, boo. But upon getting my new tube of High Impact home I was glad I’d stuck with my ol’faithful in the end.
I’m pretty sure its the brush that makes this mascara so great, I’m a firm believer that you can have the greatest forumla in the world but if the brush sucks then the mascara will suck. Having said that I totally rate the formula of the High Impact mascara – super black, long lasting, holds a curl BUT and here’s the big but, it smudges. Yes, it smudges under my eyes, come mid-morning I find myself in the ladies checking the under-eye area as it’s almost guaranteed I’ll have some sort of black smudgy ring thing going on under there which I have to wipe away with my fingers. Not a good look.
All hope is not lost, this is where my little friend the Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara comes into play. With it’s teeny tiny brush and long wear forumla, this is perfect for coating on your bottom lashes and defeating those pesky mascara migrations that happen with the High Impact.
I went a while without the Bottom Lash Mascara as I managed to convince myself I didn’t need two mascaras, but after having it back in my life I can safely say this is on the repurchase list forever more. I love it, no longer do I have to worry about dark circles under the eyes mid-morning as this stuff does.not.budge. Brilliant!
Combining the High Impact Extreme Volume and Bottom Lash Mascara, for me makes the perfect lash team.
What about you, what is your favourite mascara, do you think using two is excessive?
