The Bodyshop Highlighter Pen

L-R Topshop Highlighter, High Beam, Nars Copacabana, Bobbi Brown, The Bodyshop

Being a bit of a highlighter fiend, it's safe to say I have tested A LOT of highlighters in my time. From high end to high street I've made it my mission to find the shimmeriest highlighters out there. Some of my favourites include Benefits Watts Up, MAC Soft & Gentle, Stila Kitten and any of the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Bricks, then came into my life The Bodyshop's Lightening Touch in the shade 00.

I didn't even know this existed until casually browsing The Bodyshop the other day, it seems the range is predominantly concealers, all in these clicky pen style applicators, however the shade 00 is a highlighter.

As soon as I swatched this pearly pink liquid I knew it had to be mine. Trying to err on the side of caution and not one to be taken in by the shops clever lighting, I patted a bit on my cheek, yes just the one and decided I'd walk around a bit before immediately making a dash to the till. After all I do own quite a collection of highlighters already so didn't want this to be another that ends up in the back of my drawers.

The selling point for me consisted of two things - how beautiful this looked in natural daylight, thanks to some mirrored panels in the shopping centre I was able to catch quick glimpses of my newly sculpted cheek, which looked stunning, that and the fact my Mum commented on it. Disregarding the fact I was looking a little crazy by staring in every mirror possible, I was sold.

So off I trotted back to The Bodyshop and behold the highlighter was mine. This retails for £14, which is a bargain considering I'd had my eye on Nars Copacabana which in comparison is practically the same thing for over double the price. I also think this far outweighs Benefit's High Beam which has the same pearly pink colour but just doesn't 'pop' as much as this does on the cheeks.

I actually like the fact it's in a pen style applicator as well, as it means precision application and less waste. I turn this a few clicks and gently dab on whatever is on the brush and blend it in with my finger.

I'm so happy I went back and bought this and would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a new highlighter.

Yours truly

Xx
