Best of the Bunch - Setting Powder

Setting powder is one of those things in life you never really put much thought into; my Rimmel Stay Matte did the job perfectly as far as I was concerned. Why would I need anything else? Until I discovered the different varieties of setting powder I was a bit ignorant to the idea, colour correcting, illuminating, mattifying, loose, pressed the list goes on, here are some of my top picks from the world of setting powders.

 Urban Decay Naked Loose Powder
Ok so technically mine is different but I can only guess that this is what the Razor Sharp HD Powder was replaced with. I’ve had a look at the Naked powder in store and they are practically the same. I like this one as it’s a super fine loose powder, perfect for all over setting or under the eyes. It can be layered as much as you like to set makeup and creates a soft matte smooth base.

MAC Prep & Prime Loose Powder
This can look a little scary especially for darker skinned gals but rest assured you’ll get no white cast with this setting powder. I find this one is a super matte finish, good for hot weather and nights out as your makeup will not budge!

 Bourjois Healthy Mix Pressed Powder
Hands down one of the best pressed powders in its price range, this manages to set makeup flawlessly without being too matte. Resulting in healthy radiant skin. Brilliant for touch ups and on the go as its compact.

 Chanel Vitalumiere Pressed Powder
I mentioned this in my last post as it’s a powder I absolute adore. Reserved for when my skin needs a bit of oomf, Vitalumiere is hydrating as well as silky soft, creating a flawless radiant finish. It can be used alone as a powder foundation or on top of makeup and provides a little bit of coverage as well as setting everything in place.

Ben Nye Banana Powder / Bare Minerals Eye Brightener
Two of my favourite under eye powders. Ben Nye is yellow which adds an instant Kim K brightening effect under the eyes, whilst Eye Bright is more fleshy toned. Equally as illuminating, when swatched you can see the Bare Minerals has almost a satin / sheeny finish whereas the Ben Nye is completely matte. I’ve often seen Eye Bright compared to Laura Mercier’s Secret Brightening Powder.

What's your favourite powder?

Yours truly

Xx
