Smashbox Photo Op Blue Eyes Palette

The Smashbox Photo Op Blue Eyes Palette is the first eye shadow palette I’ve tried from the Smashbox range; in fact it’s the first eye shadow product I’ve tried from them at all. It’hard to get hold of where I live, the nearest stockist is about 25 miles away which doesn’t allow for casual browsing or sneaky lunchtime purchases so I am relatively new to the brand.

I first came across this palette when my Sister managed to get one for the absolute bargain price of £25 (it usually retails for £35.) She got hers from Bicester Village, a designer shopping outlet. I’d never heard of the Photo Op Palettes before and initially wasn’t very interested when I saw this as the colours didn’t appeal to me.  It was only when I saw Kirsty wearing this on a night out, that’s when the magic happened!!

It made her blue eyes pop and seem so more intense, such a pretty look! She’d used a combination of the warm browns and peach to create a smoky eye and after seeing that I knew it had to be mine.
The palette comes with 6 shades and a small brush, personally I think £35 is a lot for a palette containing 6 eyes shadows especially when compared with the Naked Palettes which also retail for around £35 and come with 10.  That being said I think this is totally worth the money as the quality is amazing and the colours are so unique.

I managed to pick mine up second hand from Ebay as they are currently sold out online; I’m always a little bit nervous of Ebay but the seller’s description said it had only been used a few times, the pictures were clear and she had a lot of positive feedback so I went ahead and made the order, I couldn’t be happier that I did! She ensured me the palette would be well protected in transit resulting in me and the bubble wrap fighting it out to get it off!

The eye shadows are so pigmented and soft it’s incredible; I actually have to be careful when using this as if I go in too hard with my brush I can end up with too much colour on my lids. I love the warm smoky effect it gives me and have managed to create a variety of daytime / evening looks with this.

Shade Descriptions from top - bottom, left –right:
Cream (butter shimmer) Shell (shimmery coral) Pewter (metallic platinum
Custard (matte peach) Sable (soft matte brown) Mocha (toasted brown with gold flakes)

Smashbox have these palettes for a variety of eye colours, which I’d highly recommend as I’m sure they're all as equally as beautiful as mine.

Yours truly

Xx
