Top Five Favourites - Foundation

Foundation is majorly my thing I am obsessed so this has been one of my easiest posts to write by far as I literally could go on forever! In no particular order, here are my top 5 favourite foundations…….

MAC Studio Fix

I mentioned MAC a while back in my forgotten treasures post as I’ve always had a love hate
relationship with this. Mainly because I loved the product just not the colour I had been matched to.
Now I have the right colour (NC15 for reference,) this is perfect for everyday use. Medium buildable
coverage with a semi-matte finish, this rarely needs touch ups throughout the day, just a bit of
powder here and there if required. Always a good safe option if I can't decide what to wear on my face in the morning.

Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow

One of my top picks for the summer! Much lighter coverage and texture than the MAC
foundation meaning I can go slightly darker when I have a tan (currently using Ivory, I’m Pure for
Sure,) however still enough coverage to hide any imperfections. The finish is radiant without being too shiny.
Good wear time and seems to perk my skin up on duller days.

Laura Mercier Silk Crème

This is my ‘special occasion’ foundation as it’s pretty full coverage, you only need the tiniest amount
to achieve a flawless complexion which I usually buff on with my trusty Real Techniques Buffing brush. The
finish this foundation gives is beautiful, matte yet luminous. Perfect for nights out or long days, bear
in mind it does contain SPF so may not be brilliant for photographs but still a good investment, I
currently use the shade Ivory.

Bourjois Healthy Mix

No doubt you’ve heard of this one, Bourjois Healthy Mix seems to have a bit of a cult following since it was compared to Chanel’s Vitalumiere Foundation. At under half the price this is a brilliant find if you like that youthful dewy look to your skin. Another favourite of mine for the summer, light to medium coverage I am currently using shade 51 however for my holiday last year could get away with 53 as its so easy to blend. If I was to wear this on a night out I don’t think it would go the distance with my skin type (sweaty mess by the end of the night!) Also great for mature skin as it’s very moisturising and is packed with skincare goodies, this also comes in a serum infused formula for that extra hit of moisture.

NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturiser

I know I know, not technically a foundation but it counts as a base right? I have this in 2 colours, St Moritz and Alaska. St Moritz was a complete accident as this was the first one I bought and was initially way to dark for me so I went back and got Alaska. I used St. Moritz along with the darker shade of Bourjois Healthy Mix on my holiday last year and it worked perfectly. Being a tinted moisturiser the coverage is minimal, yet this seems to have the ability to make things look better, like a blurring effect almost. I use this on no makeup days or when my skins at its best.

What are your top 5 foundations of the moment?

Yours truly

Xx
