Sometimes there's just one brand or
a certain product you can't seem to get away from and last year that was
Charlotte Tilbury - there was literally no getting away from it.
I've been a long time follower of hers, often
watching tutorials or picking up tips from her in magazines, so I let out a little
squeal of delight when in 2014 she announced she was launching her own makeup
and skin care line. Since then she’s literally exploded into the beauty world
with her products, all housed in beautiful rose gold packaging, these are the epitome
of luxury beauty and are now available all around the world.
So the question is - what makes CharlotteTilbury’s Magic Cream so luxurious, is it magic? And is it worth the £70 price tag?
Well firstly It’s got all of our favourite ingredients in
there - hyaluronic acid, damask rose water, rosehip oil, SPF 15 so it is a great
all-rounder skincare product and is said to suit all skin types *coughs* not so sure on this claim but moving on......
Charlotte says she's been testing this backstage for years as and her clients are already hooked on its youthful skin plumping abilities, so while we may not all be models needing a little boost between shows after having our faces wiped clean for the 30th time, I put it to the test.
After using this for a few weeks I definitely
noticed a difference in my skin. I use this more as a night cream (naughty, tuts as self due to it containing SPF) as I felt it’d be too heavy for me during the day.
I get
quite dehydrated skin - blame working in an office + not drinking enough water which
this creams works wonders at combatting. After using the CT
Magic Cream I didn’t notice the dryness at all and my skin felt a lot more soft and
supple.
As for its de- wrinkling properties I (fortunately) can't really comment as I don't have many of these, but I'd imagine a more mature skin would love It.
I do enjoy the glow it gives, although not sure if this was actual glow or grease, (I have combo skin ) but can see why this was a favourite back stage. It manages to instantly inject moisture and life back into the skin - something I'm sure we all need a bit of help with every now and then!
My overall thought on whether it's worth the price tag would be yes, potentially for the right skin type. Acne / combo / oily skinned girls stay away unless you have really dehydrated or lacklustre skin as this is only going to make it worse. For anyone else, dry / dehydrated/ aging skin types then go ahead, just don't show hubby / spouse / significant other the receipt *gulps*
