Nars Creamy Radiant vs. Urban Decay Naked Concealer

Recently I decided to purchase the Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer. I am a loyal fan of the Nars Creamy Radiant but after hearing good things i decided to give it a go and compare the two.

I’ve been using the Nars Creamy Radiant for around 2 years, basically since it launched. This changed the concealer game for me as I’d never had something so high coverage and perfect at covering dark circles, however after 2 years of use I got bored and wanted a change.

So when Urban Decay released their version I couldn’t help but pick this up. Its taken me a while as they released this a few months ago but I’m glad I did.

I got the shade Light Warm, which luckily turned out to be a perfect match.  I say luckily because the shade range is confusing. There are 8 shades in total ranging from light to dark, cool to warm but don’t seem to be an any sort of order.

It was hard to get the perfect match,  cue lots of googling beforehand and sneakily taking my Nars in with me and I managed to find one that suits.

Onto the comparison –

Price

Nars retails at £22 for 6ml of product and Urban Decay for £17.50 for 5ml, so Urban Decay is marginally cheaper if you break it down to price per ml.

Packaging

Pretty standard as concealer goes, the difference is in the applicators. Nars has a traditional doe foot applicator, where as UD is a doe foot with a slight dip in each side meaning it holds loads more product, particularly handy if you’re using this for the face as well as round the eyes.

Formula & Coverage

The Nars concealer is much thicker than UD and dare I say slightly more pigmented. Its worth bearing in mind though also slightly drier. The UD seems to glide on a lot smoother and easier and can be built up in coverage where as the Nars seems to settle and crease easier due to the dryness.

Both formulas last well on my skin – no complaints there. I do prefer the coverage of Nars but the texture of UD so its tough to chose between the two in this category. Both are really brightening and great at covering dark circles which is what I use them for.

If I had to chose one I’d go with Nars, although slightly drier i prefer the coverage as its more luminous and pigmented than UD.  Although saying that if you’re after a blemish concealer I’d go for UD for these reasons.

Which one do you prefer? Have you tried both?
