Heat Proof

Its been hot here in the UK this week as summer decided to finally to show up. With temperatures reaching well above 30 degrees, I’ve been rummaging through my stash to see what will help with heat proofing my makeup and avoid me looking like a melty mess.

Primer is a must and nothing preps my face better at the moment than Benefit Porefessional, not to mention filling in any fine lines and pores, this is brilliant at keeping shine at bay and helping foundation last a bit longer – WIN!

Nars All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation has become a regular in my everyday routine.  I love the finish – matte but not cakey matte as it still manages to make you look luminous whilst providing medium to full coverage. Once set this literally stays in place ALL.DAY.LONG. no risk of slippage here.  I’d definitely recommend using a beauty blender to buff this in, especially on drier skin as it just gives the most beautiful finish.

Cheek stains, lip stains anything with a stain are great for hot days. I’ve become quite a fan of the Daniel Sandler Watercolour blushes for a barely there flush of colour, but If you want something more intense, then any of the Benefit Cheek Tints are great – my favourite being the Cha Cha Tint, a pretty coral.

Clinique Lash Power is a favourite of mine in the summer. It gives a natural lengthened look, but the great thing about it is it's a tubing mascara, meaning it creates tiny tubes around your lashes when its applied and can only be removed with warm water and a flannel.

Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzing Powder is a fairly new addition to my stash, but so far has been great at adding long lasting sun kissed colourplus it smells like chocolate – genius. I got mine in the shade Chocolate Medium / Deep for reference, as although I’m pale the Milk Chocolate just wasn’t bronze enough for me.

A quick spritz with Urban Decays All Night Long Setting a Spray and you're good to go.

What are your heat proof makeup must haves?
